Several half marathons:  PR 1:59:12

3 Full:  PR   4:38:10

Did a 50th b-day run/ride.  Ran 22 miles, then rode 28 miles.  Took me 7 hours but I conquered 50 miles in honor of that milestone birthday.

April 12, 2014  St. Charles 10 miler

May 4, 2014   Flying Pirate 5K & Half Marathon (doing both)  

September 12-13, 2014  Ragnar Run (200 mile relay)

October, 2014  Woodrow Wilson Bridge Half Marathon

 

 

Long-Term Running Goals:

stay healthy...stay strong...stay happy!

Race at least 3 times a year  (1 full marathon / 2 half marathons) 

Personal:

Married for 30 years.  2 kids (28 & 20).  One beautiful grandson!

Wanted to see if I could still run after not running for a week.  Wanted to include a hill since I'll be running hills in the Ragnar race.  Ran the first four miles out at a 9:38 pace then reset my watch.  I ran the other four miles back in at a 10:31 pace.  I purposely went easy on the way back in so I could ease back into my routine.  

Getting into a routine will be challenging this week.

How's the triathlon training going?

I'm trying to swim twice a week. Tuesday is swimming class at CSM then Saturday is open swim. I haven't been able to spin or run this week because Harvey back in hospital. Hoping to get a spin and 3 mile run before heading up to Baltimore tomorrow.

I'm not a very good swimmer. My freestyle is not working. I end up gasping for air and taking in water. I'm going to have to side stroke, back stroke, or doggy paddle across the river.
