Swam for 30 minutes yesterday at CSM Open swim. I'm taking swimming lessons to see if I will be able to sign up for a triathlon sprint in June. I want to make sure I will be able to swim across the river. I only need to swim 1/2 mile, bike 10, and run a 5K. I'm not worried about the bike and run but the swim has me nervous. I'm not a very good swimmer. I tend to take in a lot of water. I've had two freestyle lessons so far and it's not pretty. I feel like my breathing is all wrong which leads me to gasp for air and take in water...choke...stop swimming so I can breathe and recoupe. If anyone has advice I'd love to hear it.
