Well...interesting day.  Sun was shining and I found myself with a 3 hour window so I decided to do my run today instead of tomorrow.  I packed up my gear and drove to the Rail Trail for my run.  As soon as I got in the parking log, the sky opened up.  It was pouring rain.  I called my husband and he checked the radar and said it looked like it was going to rain for another hour or so.  I decided to drive to the gym and hop on the treadmill.

The treadmill bores me to death.  I was on mile 2 and started renegotiating my miles for today.  You know, the mental battle about how much you have in you.   That is when I noticed the sun was shining again.  I was even more disappointed because I was in the gym not in the sunshine.  That's when I said to myself..."Who is keeping you here?  Get your butt outside!"

So I hopped off the treadmill, ran down to the locker, got my Garmin and my vest (and mace), then headed out the door.  I had a wonderful run through new areas in the hood.  On mile eight I thought I heard a rumble through my music and I turned around.  Lurking behind me where these deep dark clouds and the rumble was thunder.  I picked up the pace and made it back to the gym just before another downpour started.  Success!

I Don't know my first 3 miles pace because I was on the treadmill, it felt like it was 12:00.

9:37, 9:35, 9:34, 9:42, 9:39, 9:42, 9:10, 8:50 (.14)

I'm so glad you were able to get out. You made the right choice! I look back on our treadmill days and wonder how we kept at it day after day.

Great paces!
