Beautiful weekend and beautiful day for a race.  I joined my nephews, great nephew, my brother, and several of their friends.  Pictured from left to right is my nephew David, my nephew Mike (he drove up from FL),  Me, Davids friend Kenny (professional BMX rider), and his friend JT.  I ran this race with Mike last year (his 1st race) and it poured down rain.  This year was much much nicer.  Kenny was super fast.  David, Mike, Kenny, and JT ran the 5K the day before and Kenny ran it in 19 minutes and some change.   On a sad note, a runner dropped at the end of the 5K because his heart stopped.  They were doing chest compressions as they put him in the ambulance.  Didn't look like they were able to resuscitate him.

On a good note, my nephews and I felt great throughout the race.  I definitely thought about the runner from the day before and was hoping he survived.  I prayed for his family and gave thanks for the health I am enjoying right now in my life.

Mike, Dave, and I stayed together throughout the race.    AP:  10:41

Dave's friend Kenny finished in 1:39:23.

There was a LOT of testosterone in the house this weekend.  The push up contest Saturday night was evidence of that :)

Terri- Great race weekend this year! I'm glad your leg didn't bother you and you had such a great crew to hang out with. Next year you'll have to do the challenge too :-)

I'm glad the weather was nice for you and it didn't rain on you. Always nice when Blackbeard is smiling down on you for a race!!
